OPENING A COMPUTER AND PARTS IDENTIFICATION

• Make sure the power cable as well as any other cables are unplugged from the computer
• Open the case by unscrewing the bolts on the back of your case
• Remember to remove static from your body by touching the power supply (the big metal block)
• The main parts include the CPU or central processing unit (performs calculations), GPU or graphics processing unit (runs video-based applications), RAM or Random Access Memory (the temporary memory of your computer) and the hard drive (where all of your data is stored)
